It was not making complete cups of coffee without manually forcing it to continue. It was making noises I had never heard before such as loud squeaks while making coffee. Again there were no indications that it may need cleaning. No decalcification light. Since it was over a year old I decided it couldn't hurt to clean/decalcify it. After reading several favorable reviews for Urnex Dezcal and its compatibility with the Bosch machine, I decided to purchase it. One round of decalcification did the trick. One packet later my coffee tastes fresh, the machine is quiet, and it brews a full cup. It took about 3 tanks of water to rinse all of the Urex out (I tested by adding creamer to the water, if it balls up, them there is still some of the agent in the brewer).
